| The head is off! |
The chief mechanic (that's still Dad) and the team worked at double speed to fit a new head gasket and deal with a leaking water pump. Lukily there is always other single-seater race boys ready to help so we managed to just make it. It was close, having to start from the pit lane as the grid was already formed. Starting effectively last, managed to overtake 2 others before deciding to come into the pits as there was a funny smell. Lukily it was only evaporating rad. water, and went back out.
