Double win at Oulton
Finally after two double rounds at Brands this year with a win and a second at each Luke managed to take two wins from two poles at Oulton Park.
The two races were on one day with qualifying in the morning so was going to be a busy day, the weather was very hot up to 30c so tyres were critical, we decided to use slicks for qualifying and race one and for race two we switched to standard grooved as they are narrower and less rubber contact which would help with top speed, it was so hot as soon as we let a pound of pressure out it went straight back up again which led us to go out with too low pressures so the car was moving around under cornering.
We never really came under any pressure from anyone and apart from a wheel banging with a Formula 2000 in race two which you can see in the video, it was quite straight forward lights to flag drive.
Many thanks to Uncle Barrie and Aunty Lorraine for making the trip to support Luke again, big thanks to Craig for doing the bbq and feeding us all and big thanks to Melissa, Luke had the best looking brolly girl on the grid!
Luke is now leading the 1600 championship with a healthy margin going into the next round at Silverstone on the 17th - 18th August on the GP circuit.
